Install the lastest xfce 4.8 in xubuntu maverick and lucid.

Xfce 4.8 was released a few days ago with notable improvements. The new version of xubuntu ( 11.04) will ship with it. But for those unwilling to upgrade can use these "unofficial" ppa for upgrading to xfce 4.8 in maverick and lucid.

Install XFCE 4.8 in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat (both 32bit and 64bit):

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:koshi/xfce-4.8
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop

Install XFCE 4.8 in Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx (32bit only!):

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:alexx2000/xfce
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop
